Hi! I'm Yonah, and I'm a junior from Los Angeles majoring in Politics. I graduated from YULA and spent a year at Gush before starting Princeton. In addition to serving as Yavneh's President this year, I work on campus for OIT (hit me up with your tech questions!) and at the Architecture Library (don't ask me about architecture—I know nothing about it!). In my free time, I enjoy hanging out with friends and stressing over writing bios that no one reads. As President, I plan to add stressing over writing Friday emails that no one reads to my list of hobbies.
If you have any questions about Orthodox life at Princeton, please don't hesitate to email me! [email protected]
Jacob Penstein '25 Gabbai
What’s poppin’ chevra? My name is Jacob Penstein, but please call me The Gabbai. I am a junior from Woodmere, NY, concentrating (in all senses of the word) in Chemistry. Before I came to Princeton, I went to Davis Renov Stahler HALB Yeshiva High School for boys and then spent two years at Yeshivat Har Etzion. You can find me in the basement of the CJL or in Lawrence Apartment Complex. I am really looking forward to serving as Gabbai this year. Please feel free reach out to me for any tefillah-related questions!
Hi! My name is Emma Simon and I’m a freshman from New York City. I went to SAR High School and then spent a year at Migdal Oz. I’m currently a very tentative religion major, but I’m open to suggestions. In addition to the Yavneh board, I am also a member of the CJL board and the Religious Life Council. Please reach out with any questions, suggestions, concerns, or ideas (preferably at least tangentially related to my role as Gabbait, but if not that’s also cool.) [email protected]

Before coming to Princeton, I attended Donna Klein Jewish Academy and spent a year at Yeshivat Eretz HaTzvi. When I’m not planning social events, you can find me playing tennis or running with the Princeton Running Club. I am excited to contribute to this community as social chair. Yoni Weinreich '26 Education Chair
Hey! I'm Yoni Weinreich and I'm a sophomore from Teaneck, New Jersey. I went to TABC for high school, and spent two years studying at Gush before coming to Princeton. I'm majoring in History, with a side of Computer Science minor so I can pretend I'm also a STEM guy. You can probably find me most of the time in the CJL or Firestone, hopefully learning Torah, maybe speaking German, but always down to stop being productive and talk.
I'm super excited to serve as the Yavneh Education Chair this year, so please reach out with any questions about Torah education or learning opportunities at Princeton! [email protected]
